I'm extremely pleased to report that the inaugural Creating Landscapes Trade Show is at break-even point with still nine weeks until the doors open, writes Phil Voice.
Before we started, feedback and research pointed to a 10-20% loss for the first year.
We have just two stands left indoors and 80% sold in the outdoor area too. With pending sales and a recent new enquiry, the anticipation is we will be 100% booked well in advance (although we do have space to expand the outdoor exhibition space to over 100% of its current capacity).
All of our exhibitors will be pleased to hear that not a single stand has been undersold.
As I write this we've just received an order from Q Lawns that adds 50% again to their stand.
Online as well as offline
If you are pondering inclusion in the event, please consider one very important aspect of the show that no other landscape and trade exhibition can offer.
Creating Landscapes's strength isn't just a two day physical event taking place in a physical location: that's an outdated format that cannot provide the right value for exhibitors any more.
Creating Landscapes is the only online media backed event in the industry, meaning our exhibitors will gain a major advantage over the companies who are absent because we are working for their businesses twenty-four hours a day, three hundred and sixty-five days of the year.
The growing strength and unchallengeable success of Landscape Juice is providing priceless online publicity, potentially worth many, many thousands of pounds, for our supporters.
As a Google friendly and well established online media, Landscape Juice's editorial and backlinks will help raise exhibitors' profile and stock in SERPS, meaning if you're IN, and we've written about you and your products, or services and we're linked to your website, the chances of someone searching for the products you sell, have an increased potential for being found above your competitors.
We're doing it differently
- The Landscape Juice brand is getting circa 90,000 visitors a month.
- We have over 2,100 members of our growing network: the largest association of landscape and garden businesses in the united Kingdom.
- Marshalls, our principle and headline sponsor, is providing extraordinary back-up and email nearly 17,000 landscape and garden businesses.
- Landscape Juice and Creating Landscapes is followed by over 3,500 people and businesses on Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook.
- Capel Manor College is sending out details to their entire list of past and present students.
To create interest in the show and to help ensure our exhibitors get the maximum value out of their investment we've maintained constant news flow through the build-up to the show.
Where other conventional trade exhibitions can only bring attention to their supporters across the days the event is physically taking place, our efforts mean some of our exhibitors will enjoy free advertising for up to twenty-four months: in fact our plan is to maintain the 2011 website indefinitely meaning the advertising benefits could be unlimited.
